Must Read

Love 'em or hate' em, you have to give credit to Apple's brilliant marketing and the press machine. Has mastered the art of product announcements and control the news cycle like any other company. The latest report from AllThingsD, set the introduction of the iPhone 5 for Tuesday, October 4 is the latest example. Here's why.

Chances are you do not know, but October will be a great month for the wireless industry. Here's a quick summary of the events that are already on tap for October:
October 7: Sprint "upgrade strategy." Sprint's senior management is expected to discuss future plans of the network and respond to questions from the press. We saw the news of Sprint switch to LTE, or learn about the fate of Clearwire. Either way, Sprint's 4G plans are in the balance.October 11 hasta 13: CTIA: Enterprise and applications. This is the annual fall event held by the lobbying organization of wireless industries. Phones and new services are usually announced at this event.

October 18 to 20: BlackBerry Devcon Americas. This is Research In Motion, the annual developer conference. Last year, RIM introduced the playbook in Devcon.

October 24 to 27: 4GWorld. This event, held in Chicago, the growth and change in the telecommunications industry. Currently covering WiMax, LTE and other network technologies deployed in the United States.

October 26 to 27: Nokia World. Nokia's annual event is expected to have more weight this year, as many believe that the Finnish phone giant will show the first build of Windows 7 phone software - if not their first phone Windows 7 device (s ).
Taking all these events together, leaving Apple with very little during the entire month of October. Time an iPhone launch in May of the first part of the week of October 3 is the best opportunity for the Cupertino company to monopolize the attention to other news erodes all the chatter about the media its latest smart phone.

Not that Apple has been stepping over the feet of his companions in the past ...Earlier this year, Apple and Verizon Wireless sent out invitations on the second day of the Consumer Electronics Show in what would eventually be the announcement of the iPhone from Verizon. The notice was sufficient to override invite the news coming out of Las Vegas for the rest of CES.

Of course, we all remember how Apple held its own media event in San Francisco in January 2007 - the first day of CES 2007 - to announce that the original iPhone. That single ad almost erased all the news generated in Las Vegas this year.

In short, the report AllThingsD a debut Oct. 4 on target for the iPhone 5. Still, AllThingsD says, "While Apple certainly could change their plans at any time, sources said that the October 4 date has been selected by the company to introduce the iPhone 5. Sources said the plan now is to the new device for purchase within a couple of weeks after the announcement. "

The announcement and the impending arrival of the iPhone 5 no doubt hanging over all mobile news generated in the months to come, no matter how you slice the apple
